Abstract

Seasonal dynamics of the state of photosynthetic apparatus and the water metabolism characteristics ofSiberian stone pine (Pinus sibirica) and Siberian dwarf pine (Pinus pumila) vegetative progeny in the south of WesternSiberia are researched. The species-specific and seasonal specificity of the photosynthetic pigment contents, chlorophyllfluorescence traits, free and bound water contents in the snow covered and snow-free needles was established. The greatplasticity of Siberian Stone pine was shown during adaptation to winter low temperatures.
