The article deals with the materials of the surface bedding of the artifacts Aral-4–6, discovered by a joint Kazakh and Russian expedition during the investigation of the northern coast of the Aral Sea in 1998-1999. The limited time frame of the expedition prevented a detailed study of these items, so the archaeological material shows a selection of the most impressive products. So, the location of the Northern Aral Sea, Aral-4–6 is characterized by bilaterally processed items (bifaces). At present, Kazakhstan reveals three branches of Paleolithic industries with bifaces. These are north-western, western and central regions of the country. The results of research of Palaeolithic complexes of the Northern Aral Sea region leads to the conclusion that the location Aral-4–6 presents mixed complexes, the basic materials that are likely to refer to the final stage of the Middle — Upper Paleolithic. At the same time part of the collections on the basis of morphological traits can be related to the earlier stages of the Paleolithic.
