Evidence obtained from the Tinit-1 and Rubas-1 sites of (upper assemblage) is characteristic of the Last Middle Paleolithic in this part of Dagestan. Its time interval is about 50–35 thousand years ago. The analysis of these industries makes it possible to infer that Levallois technique was gradually phased out, with its transformation focused on the more intensive use of technical volume of a core within the semi-volumetric blade technique. At the same time, lithic industries underwent changes in their toolkits: the Middle Paleolithic pointed forms vanished, the treatment of side-scrapers tended to become simpler, the number and variability of the Upper Paleolithic types increased, the isolated tool-markers (shouldered and carinated end-scrapers, truncated-faceted pieces, transverse multiple burins) came into use. These complexes have the greatest similarity with assemblies of the Shlyakh Site (layers 7–9) in the south of the Russian Plain. The industries of Dagestan are distinguished from the ones of the North-West and South Caucasus with the absence of bifaces, a low proportion of pointed forms (spicules, convergent and angular scrapes), an extremely rare use of ventral thinning. At the same time, the Dagestan materials of the boundary of the Middle - Upper Paleolithic, in contrast to the "conservative" technocomplexes of other regions of the Caucasus of this period, reveal a stable vector of changes aimed at the formation of Upper Paleolithic features, which allows us to document the processes that could lead to the development of RVP industries on the local basis.
