The article presents the results of the study of two metal plates of the early Middle Ages, depicting armed riders. The finds are stored in the Bianki Biysk Museum of Local Lore (Altai Territory, Russia). They were discovered by M.D. Kopytov during the excavation in 1925 of one of the mounds on the well-known site Srostki-I. The paper presents the history of publications of these original artifacts gives the description of their shape, design and dimensions. Detailed consideration is given to the image of riders and horses, weapons and equipment. Graphic drawings and photographs of museum exhibits are submitted. The analysis is given to the results of chemical analysis of the products obtained with the use of a portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. The circle of analogies is outlined with the horsemen-riders that were published in detail in the materials of archaeological complexes of the 8th – 9th centuries and random finds. It is noted that the main area of existence of such products coincides with the territory of distribution of the Srostki culture sites.
